Beats to Fall (RIP Michael Jackson)

Well, the King of Pop sadly passed away yesterday. Sad times, people, sad times. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and now MJ have all passed on this week. I'm not gonna get into any details about MJ in regards to his personal life. All that needs to be remembered about the man is the music he crafted, the songs that he wrote for us, the ordinary people. He was an influence on an entire generation of music stars in the 90's & even now in the new century. He will be greatly missed. I'm now gonna take this time & dedicate one of my poems I wrote a little while ago to the memory of Michael Jackson. It is a poem about the connection between a person & music, and how, even if one passes on, the music will carry on the legacy. I think this definitely rings true with Michael Jackson. MJ, wherever you are now, Rest in Peace. You will be missed. Now, I present to you, "Beats to Fall":

Though the day is far,
when I die,
all I ask
is for the beats to fall.
Fall in to place,
around my head
take me to the place
where the drama ends.
I can't see it any better,
surrounded by music,
all the more clever,
And a lot more smoother.
Hey, I just gotta say
the music is my lover.
Met her day one,
and kept her as my 'other'
So even when they say
"til death do us part"
I know that,
even when I'm gone,
the music will carry on.
Through her
my legacy will grow,
wander the world
in an endless flow.
And others will learn,
just as she taught me,
the lessons of life,
and how to be free.
Cuz she works in mysterious ways,
touching the heart
and soothing the soul
curing our body
of the worldly tolls.
So, though the day is far,
when I die,
all I ask
is for the beats to fall.

DJ Wise is out for the day. Peace!
